Abstract
In the world there are different countries that since the 1970s have set different objectives for the presence of renewable energy in their energy matrix, a tool to meet the objectives set is the application and use of renewable portfolio standards. In Peru, the law to ensure the efficient development of electricity generation calls for the tender as a preventive measure for the timely supply of electricity for the regulated market. This assurance will be carried out through bids that result in long-term electricity supply contracts with firm prices that will be transferred to Regulated Users. To increase the participation of RERs, it is proposed to implement “renewable portfolio standards”. This article analyzes and proposes its implementation.
